Start to think in Japanese. Yes, ditch your native language that echoes around your head all day and night and start to think in Japanese instead, the benefits are huge. Not only will it help you increase your speed and efficiency of speaking, but it will also help you eventually transition into fluency.
Language is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets. Thinking about Japanese every day will keep you tuned into Japanese even when you are at work, walking around and doing absolutely nothing. Also it’s free so that’s a bonus!

Conditioning:
At first it’s going to be very difficult to think in Japanese ever day. Your brain will always try and revert back to your native language because it is easier. You must persist. Make a conscious effort to switch back to Japanese at all costs, write it on your arm to remind you if you have to.
But what if I don’t know how to think what I want to think?
Well, this is the best part. You end up teaching yourself the words that you really need to know. Make a list all the words that you want to think but don’t know them. Then at the end of the day you can learn those really important words and add them to your vocab list.
A cool feature with this is that you should eventually see your list of words you need to learn getting shorter and shorter, speeding up your thinking and speaking patterns.
It is of course okay to swap out certain works with your native language for the sake of keeping up a good pace.
It will feel frustrating at times when you cannot say specific things, but its important to not get hung up on perfection. Just ensure that you figure out how to do it fore the next time and move on. Afterall, fluency comes after 10000’s of mistakes.
What to think about:
Think about everything!
What you are going to do tonight
What you are doing right now
Describe how he / she looks
Describe how you are feeling
Future plans
Worries
Hopes
Dreams
Aspirations
Think to yourself about anything and everything, create new situations and don’t stop thinking.
If you do this every day you will quickly see the benefits of such an exercises. Do this until it becomes as easy as well … thinking.
