The Tohoku Region: The scenic route

More of a rural place than a tourist place, the Tohoku area is the North East Area of Japan where it consists of Akita, Aomori, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata. Back in the 1960’s, it was considered as a powerhouse of ironworks, steelmaking, cement, pulp, petroleum, and chemicals and although this is the case, the region is still traditionally known as a lesser developed are in Japan. This was even more the case when the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami in 2011 killed more than 15,000 people and left half a million people homeless because of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. This has somewhat made Tohoku a more rural area than it already is, allowing nature to flourish. It has a stark contrast to that of the more common known areas of Japan and has a more scenic and rural feel to it. It is still considered as a tourist destination but due to its less than gentle climate, the Tohoku Area is considered more as a holiday away from a holiday.
Japanese Vocational Schools

Vocational Schools are a popular choice for people who want to work in a very specific field with adequate experience and knowledge. It is also a relatively shorter course to take compared to University since it mainly focuses on skills and knowledge specific to your industry of choice. For people who want to live and be employed in Japan, vocational schools would be the best step into setting yourself up for it. For most foreigners, the only hurdle into studying at a vocational school is the language requirements. Most vocational schools in Japan require a certain level of Japanese (N2) and this might require hopefuls to study Japanese for a year or 2 which might not only elongate your study time, but you might need a deeper wallet than you originally thought.
