Shikoku (四国): The 4 provinces

Although Shikoku is the second smallest island in Japan after Okinawa, it has four wonderful islands in it namely Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi, and Tokushima. This island has many wonderful tourist destinations like Naoshima, Iya Valley,Dogo Onsen, and it also has a lot of Naruto whirlpools. For people who want to experience nature first-hand, tourists and locals alike have the opportunity to watch sea turtles lay eggs on some of the most scenic beaches on the Anan Coast.

There is also Kochi, the home of Anpanman and also consists of 85% forests and coastlines  This island is also known for its wonderful festivals and food. Some of the notable ones are the Setouchi Triennale art festival that is held every three years all across a dozen islands in the Sento Inland Sea and also the Yosakoi Dance which takes 4 days to finish in August in Kochi City. Also, since we are talking about the highlights of a place in Japan, we should never forget to talk about the food! They are known for Katsuo, Goshiki somen noodles, and sanuki udon. There are so much more to this little island but there’s only one way to know more about it, andthat is to go there and experience it yourself!
