Kobe (神戸): Beef and so much more
Kobe is the capital of Hyogo Prefecture and is quite known as a busy port in Japan. Located between the sea and a beautiful mountain range, it is considered to be one of Japan’s most beautiful cities. Its close proximity to Osaka and Kyoto has actually made it quite a popular local and tourist destination. Kobe is well known for its rich Japanese culture, beautiful instagram worthy places, and it’s delicious local food (yes, the beef and so much more!). A few notable places to visit are Arima Onsen, Shin-Kobe Ropeway, Mount Rokko, Sorakuen Garden, and the Earthquake Museum. Although Kobe was one of the locations ravaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995 that killed over 5,000 people, it is currently completely rebuilt, showing almost no signs of the tragedy.
