The city of Kobe is located on the island of Honshu and is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture. It is well known for its rich culture, scenic places, and it’s wonderful local food. Due to its close proximity to Osaka and Kyoto, it’s actually quite a popular tourist destination as well. Just some notable places are Mount Rokko, Oji Zoo, Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and the Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park.

KIU was established in 1968 with a very religious founder and foundation. They are affiliated with the Anglican Church in Japan. KIU strives to not only to integrate Japanese locals to foreigners, but foreign students to integrate themselves with the Japanese locals as well.
