Japanese Vocational Schools: Studying in Shikoku : Although not as popular as Tokyo or Kansai, Shikoku is one of those rare gems that will surprise its travelers in the best way possible.
The kanji of Shikoku literally translates to “four countries” and is considered to be the second smallest island in Japan. It’s divided into 4 prefectures namely Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi, and Tokushima. Although not as technologically advanced as Tokyo, it has a very nice climate and a slow paced way of life. Since it is an island separated from the rest of Japan, Shikoku has numerous ports, fishing areas, and places where salt can be collected. It’s quite popular for a pilgrimage route that consists of 88 temples that were visited by the famous monk Kobo Daishi. This island has many wonderful tourist destinations as well.
A few examples are Naoshima, Iya Valley, Dogo Onsen, and Kotohira. For people who want to experience nature first-hand, tourists and locals alike have the opportunity to watch sea turtles lay eggs on the Anan Coast.
