Saitama (埼玉県): Because why not?
Saitama Prefecture is located in the Kanto Region and is surrounded by Tokyo, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Nagano, and Yamanashi. Technically just North of Tokyo, Saitama is quite big and quite accessible from all over Japan.
It has 40 cities and 8 towns, mostly consisting of a mixture of residential areas and beautiful scenery. Saitama has many wonderful tourist spots like the Edo townscape in Kawagoe, the famous Nagatoro River Cruise, the beautiful moss pink (Shibazakura) in Chichibu, The hundred caves of Yoshimi, and the Railway Museum in Saitama City. For sake enthusiasts, going to Saitama is just the right choice for you because there are over 35 breweries in Saitama alone. Since it technically is not in Tokyo, accommodation in Saitama is cheaper compared to that of Tokyo. For food, Saitama is quite known for it’s Unagi (eel), Udon, Soka Sebei, Sayama Tea, Miso potatoes, and even Kawagoe Sweet Potatoes.
